I thought the Quik Pod, a short monopod variant designed for taking self-portraits, was kind of silly and of limited utility when released early this year. But apparently the photographing public disagrees with me, creating enough of a market for the device that manufacturer Fromm Works has now come out with a model for digital SLRs.
The Quik Pod DSLR include a a handle, a wide-angle mirror for composing shots and a telescoping boom that extends from 18 to 53 inches. When not used for admiring your wonderfulness, it can double as a standard monopod. It'll be in stores in a few days for $50.
