Admit it. Although you use your phone whenever and wherever you like, you still get pissed when somebody else jabbers on and on, right? Well, you could join the jammers. According to the New York Times, sales of cellphone jammers are rising, despite the illegality of using them, with some small resellers shipping thousands a month.
Restauranteurs are using them to stop their employees goofing off, mean-spirited mall-goers use them just to mess with the kids:
And regular commuters use them to get a little peace on the train. An architect known only as Andrew carries a jammer with a 30 feet range, and he's not afraid to use it. From the Times:
Ho ho. Schadenfreude and prank-value aside, the etiquette of cellphone use is almost non-existent. Do we need enforced no-call zones? Or should we just accept that a trip to the cinema will be spoiled by nattering teens?
