TiVo has announced a new software update for HD and Series 3 recorders, adding several widely requested features. Users now get:
- Progressive downloads. You can start watching an Amazon/UnBox movie while it's downloading.
- Multi-room viewing, allowing content stored on one machine to be shuttled to another.
- TiVoToGo, for transferring programs from a TiVo box to a desktop or laptop PC.
- Support for Western Digital's 500GB My DVR Expander hard drive.
