Walking the TGS show floor on the business-only days, when there are only about 25,000 people in the hall, can be kind of difficult. But when they throw open the doors of the show to the public, it's absolute madness. Have you ever found yourself surrounded on all sides by a sea of people, crammed all up against each other, for as far as the eye can see? This is the kind of place where you put your wallet in your front pocket and thank your lucky stars that you aren't claustrophobic.
Over in the leftmost event hall, where there are no game booths -- just the dealers, the game school booths, the main stage, and the kids' area -- it's a little easier to walk around. A little. Even this area of TGS, which doesn't feature any new games to play, was almost wall-to-wall bodies every now and then. The wait to get into Capcom's sales booth (lower left) was 40 minutes. That's how long it took to get in the door to buy Resident Evil patches and Street Fighter statuettes.
