Two recent high-profile Blu-ray movie releases have been tarnished by widespread complaints about playback glitches. Depending on which model of player you use, your new copy of "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" or "Day After Tomorrow" may not play at all, might stutter and spew out error messages or could take several minutes to load.
Suspected culprit is a new copy protection system used on both discs. (Irksome DRM technology on a Sony-backed product!?! Who woulda thought?) Manufacturers of the most seriously affected DVD players are working on firmware updates.
