The HitchMaster is a simple pulley with no moving parts. Like any pulley, it works by trading force for distance: it's easier to lift, say, an engine block, but you'll have to pull the rope a lot further to do it.
The pocket sized pulleys come in pairs and can be used for lifting, winching and tying down loads (even airplanes). Available in small for $25 (3/8" rope max) and large for $35 (5/8 " rope max).
