
Greenpeace, which has been whizzing on the Church of Steve Jobs for several years now, has come out with a report saying the iPhone is peppered with toxic goo. The group said its tests found levels of phthalates in the earphone wiring that exceeded EU standards and brominated compounds -- which form yummy dioxin when burned -- in some circuit boards. Said Greenpeace's Rick Hind:
The group also said the phone's soldered in-battery, a magnet for complaints and lawsuits, is likely to undermine efforts to keep dead phones out of landfills.
