You or I might not think Circuit City's main problem was decor-related, but that's why were not running Circuit City. The struggling big box electronics chain, which recently solved the problem of excessively helpful customer service by firing its most experienced salespeople, is now testing a new concept store dubbed "The City."
Main difference from current stores is cosmetic, with new fixtures, lighting and layout. No mention of my wacky idea of having a full complement of sales associates who know the products and don't have that semi-crazed, semi-hopeless "I work on commission, buddy!" look in their eyes.
