
SlySoft, an Irish firm that specializes in DVD-copying software, says it has cracked the extra layer of copy protection Sony bakes into Blu-ray discs. According to a fitful translation of a German report, company CEO Giancarlo Bettini says they've found a way around BD+, which Sony introduced with all sorts of "copy protection for the next century" rhetoric. He expects SlySoft to have Blu-ray copying software on the market by the end of the year. Adds Bettini, who no doubt has a very good reason for having his mailed delivered to Antigua:
