Several online developers have banded together to fight game piracy in China, a task roughly equivalent to nailing Jell-O to a tree. Still, CDC Games, CCP (Eve Online), T3 Entertainment (Audition), Sonokong (Shaiya), Ons On Soft (Shine), and Wemade Entertainment (Mir III) are going to give it a try anyway by forming the Online Games Alliance Against Piracy. They totally should've gone with The Justice League instead, don't you think?

CDC has already seen some success prosecuting pirates on their own, but the company's Peter Yip feels that the alliance will have an even stronger chance of success:

Like other segments in the entertainment industry, we have experienced an increase in piracy, especially with some of our more popular online games. Our primary objective is to reduce, and if possible, eliminate these piracy challenges so our industry can continue its vibrant growth throughout China. This alliance and the recent successful convictions of illegal operators are major steps in achieving our objectives.

Good luck, guys. We're afraid you're going to need it.
