Flex-fuel cars require sensors that determine how much ethanol is in the mix. GM says that its flex-fuel vehicles may have been reading this incorrectly, according to KXMC TV in North Dakota. As a result, its vehicles may not have been running as efficiently as they should, resulting in lower gas mileage.
To fix the problem, General Motors is issuing a software upgrade. If you drive a GM flex-fuel vehicle, check with your local dealer to see if you need the upgrade.
