On the heels of the apology made by Whole Foods CEO John Mackey for his anonymous Internet postings, the CtW Investment Group has called for his resignation. The group, whose members own roughly 900,000 Whole Foods shares, released the following statement:

“Regardless of whether Mr. Mackey is ultimately found to have violated the law or the company's code of conduct his poor judgment has already damaged his credibility, jeopardized the proposed Wild Oats' acquisition and triggered a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation.”
