Bowing to probable pressure from the RIAA, the University of Kansas has a stern warning to its undergrads living on campus: infringe copyrights over the university's ISP and lose log-in privileges for as long as you live on campus.
Even harsher, the University of Kansas's policy goes much further than the RIAA's lawsuits do. That organization only sues people for offering copyrighted material for upload, but the University of Kansas goes a huge step further by going after downloaders as well.
It's unclear whether students who move off campus after they get caught downloading the latest Akon track will still be able to access the campus Internet system for academic purposes from on-campus computers.
