
Last week we covered the mysterious Levitation Table, which kicked up not a small controversy in the comments (159 and counting). Speculation on how the table keeps from falling ranged from bizarre (midget in an invisibility cloak) through intricate (gyroscopes) to pragmatic (it's a fake).
Finally the designer, Alexandre Boucher, replied to my email. Unfortunately the "secret" is still secret, but here's the mail for you:
My take on this is that, if you have a truly innovative product, you apply for a patent and then go public. Anything else is just obfuscation.
