It was designed by a group of Ohio State University students who plant to topple their 315 mph speed record set at Salt Flats in 2004. As for ethanol speed demons, Karl Jacobs, recently broke the land-speed record for an E85 street car (220.7 mph). His ethanol-powered Viper makes 1200 hp. Powered by a twin-turbo V10, it has a highly modified suspension and brakes, a twin-disc clutch, a transmission cooler, a limited slip differential and more.
