Phil Spector's Trial Is More than Meets the Eye

Transformers director Michael Bay was verbally pulled into the court circus of Phil Spector's murder trial on Tuesday.

According to TMZ.com:

Friends of slain actress Lana Clarkson, who was found shot dead in Spector's house, took the stand today and testified that in the days before her death, Clarkson was distraught over a run-in she'd had with Bay.

Years earlier, Clarkson appeared in a Mercedes Benz commercial directed by Bay, and the struggling actress was hoping that he would remember her and help her find acting work. But when she approached him at a music industry party, he blew her off.

"Michael Bay just dissed me, didn't know who I was. I hate this town and I don't want to be here anymore," said Clarkson, according to testimony of her friend, Punkin Irene Elizabeth Laughlin. The defense says that this, along with spiraling depression, job and relationship unhappiness, prompted Clarkson to commit suicide upon entering Spector's foyer.

Michael Bay responded on his website:

What a friggin circus in that Phil Spector murder trial. Some whack job witness who say's she is a friend of the poor murdered girl Lana Clarkson say's she ended it (meaning suicide) because I did not recognize Lana at a party. Can you believe this dumb story? First of all Phil Spector looks like a creepy murderer. No girl would sit in a foyer of a house with a purse on her shoulder, and borrow some guys gun, and say I'm gonna end it here, oh and I'm gonna blow my teeth out and wreck my face while I'm doing it. According to national suicide experts, people - especially women, never hurt their face in the process of suicide.

So this is the Spector creep's only alibi - she committed suicide - come on.

I knew Lana. She worked with me on two commercials. I liked her energy - she had a great personality. I would never forget her face. It would be a big event in someone's life If you saw a woman you knew at a party on Saturday night and she was dead two days later, don't you think? I never saw Lana at this party. This Punkin, witness lady is a liar! I spoke to the prosecutor yesterday and learn that Punkin has a book deal about being Lana's friend. She wants to make money off of her so called 'friend'. What a disgusting piece of shit that Pumkin lady is!!!

Wow. I love how Bay says Spector "looks like a creepy murderer". Ouch! Can he get sued for that? I'm not saying I think Spector is innocent, but if we're going to make judgement calls based on people's looks, the fact that Michael Bay has what looks like a mastiff who he named Bonecrusher doesn't put him in the best of light. I mean, if you get a mastiff wouldn't you automatically think about the Diane Whipple case?
