Say it ain't so. Brian Wells, the "pizza bomber" -- who some first thought an innocent dupe -- is believed to be a co-conspirator in the strange crime that took his life. Wells died when the bomb attached to his neck exploded after he robbed a bank. The story was bizzare---and even more bizarre because Wells claimed to police -- just prior to his death, that he was an innocent man forced to carry out the robbery by the real criminals. But an indictment released today names Wells as part of the conspiracy, which has even taken stranger turns (think body in the freezer):
Along with making national headlines, the pizza bomber inspired a Law & Order CI episode.
In federal indictments released Wednesday, Wells is named as a co-conspirator in the robbery plot, along with two other people, Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong and her friend, Kenneth E. Barnes. They are charged with bank robbery and conspiracy. *
