Ferrarif4301bigFerrari's F430 (pictured here) welcomes the third model to its family, the Scuderia, a track friendly version aimed at weekend racers. Unlike the Coupe and Spider, the Scuderia sheds such niceties as standard seats, carpet, stereo and rear windscreen (it's replaced with a plexiglass version) to reduce the car's weight by some 200 pounds. The Scuderia is powered by a 4.3-liter V8, which produces 510 hp—up from 483—at 8500 rpm. New auto-manual paddle-shifters reduce gear-change times to 60 milliseconds. A new traction-control system combines the
E-Diff electronic differential and the F1-Trac traction and stability control in a single integrated system. Ferrari says the car should hit 60 mph in 3.5
seconds. Top speed is estimated at 200 mph. Autoweek has photos.
