
Russian institutions don't seem to have much respect for the law. First, a head teacher, using pirated Microsoft software at his school, had his case dismissedby a court as trivial. Now, in the picture above, you can see a Russian bank getting in on the act. That there is an ATM running an un-activated copy of windows.
This is more likely to be a mistake by the installing engineer than an attempt to save money; VTB, the bank in question, is the second largest in Russia and went public last month with an IPO (initial public offering) of $8 billion. They can probably afford a software license or two.
