EPEAT, which sounds a special kind of soil in which Internet grows, rates products according to their eco-friendly features, hazardous components and energy efficiency.
This sounds a bit like a frequent flyer doing his or her part by switching to a hybrid car: every time they fly, their share of the plane's environmental damage can be measured in years-worth of driving. With government now insisting on most of its computers being grown in ePeat, however, the world is surely as good as saved.
