
The story of the HP pretexting controversy just won’t go away, but this week the tech giant moved a little closer towards relegating the ugly events to the history books. Judge Ray Cunningham dropped charges against former Hewlett-Packard ethics official Kevin Hunsaker and private investigators Matthew DePante and Ronald DeLia.
The three figured prominently in the HP pretexting case that rocked Silicon Valley last year. Judge Cunningham dropped the charges after confirming that the defendants had complied with a previous plea arrangement and completed 96 hours of community service.
