In 1882, Victorian futurist artist Albert Robida created this amazing lithograph, titled "Going to the Opera in the Year 2000." Dapperly dressed in French attire, monocled socialites and their silk-drenched ladies hover in aero-limousines above the Paris Opera House, as saber-carrying French gendarmes decked out in Neo-Roman attire patrol the smoggy skies. Pale-Future has more detailed pictures, as well as a high-resolution scan of the entire image. I have found my new desktop wallpaper.
