It looks like all the talk of Susan Decker taking over Terry Semel’s job were premature. Decker has been abruptly moved to the “head of the advertiser and publisher group” with Blake Jorgensen taking over as CFO.

As the company’s stock jumped and dipped over the last few weeks, many analysts on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley were openly suggesting that Decker would take over the CEO slot. Boosting those notions, when Microsoft was rumored to be in talks to acquire Yahoo, Decker was the only executive to surface with answers for the media.

Now the spotlight is once again singularly focused on Semel and the pressure valve on Yahoo’s future versus Google has ratcheted up several notches.
