The Rugged Mini system couldn't be further from the design aesthetics of the original. Apple makes products which are elegant, understated and with obsessive attention to detail. The Ruggedized version looks like it has been through the whole Ugly Forest. Twice. What it does have though, is a whole lot of tough. Victor Systems build these to order from aircraft grade aluminum for use in extreme conditions. The wrought aluminum case for the Mini is packed with heatsink fins for cooling and everything is sealed against the elements with epoxy.
This is probably overkill if you just want to protect your media center from your toddler, but for some of the more daring Mac Mini mods we have seen, this could be ideal. As the system is custom made, there are no prices, but we're guessing that it might just be cheaper to keep a few spare computers around.
