Like any self respecting Star Trek fan, when Tony Alleyne split with his wife he took refuge in his first love, turning his tiny flat in Hinckley, Leicestershire, UK into a replica of the USS Enterprise.
After putting it up on eBay last year for $2 million (and failing to sell it), this sad tale of fandom has a happy ending. Tony has managed to offload his nerd paradise for £425,000 ($840,000), five times it's market price.
Alleyne has actually been living in the flat for several years. It has no windows, no washing machine ("I did have a washing machine. And cooker, but the flat needed to look more spacious - so I got rid of it. My ex-wife does my washing now.") but it does have a transporter and a Warp Coil.
In a TV spot I saw on him a few years ago he seemed something of a sad character. But who are we to judge his amazing (if obsessive) achievement?
