Tecmo Bowl](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tecmo_Bowl), one of the classic sports games of my youth, is coming to a next-gen console near you, circa 2008-ish. Yeah, it kind of falls under the category believe-it-when-you-see-it, but as long as the hope remains of uncovering a Bo Jackson easter egg — complete with his unstoppable side-scrolling TD prowess — then you know I'm there.

All reports indicate that the game should hit the Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 ... OK, we don't really know what console it's coming for, but does it matter? Let Mr. Inaga, VP of Tecmo, educate you further:

"I can't tell you what platform we're making it for. But I can tell you that it's probably not going to be on the platform that you're expecting... if that makes any sense. ... That's one thing I can tell you for sure. This is going to be a brand new game for one of the new systems ... We're confident that the new
Tecmo Bowl is going to be the talk of the town in 2008."
