It was supposed to be safer, cheaper and more competitive. NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow will be used in 16 races this season and tentative plans are to phase it in permanently. But gripes about handling have gone up everywhere—except, of course, from Hendrick Motorsports, which has won all five COT races this season. Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle and, most recently, Dale Earnhardt Jr. have all made public complaints about the racer. And everyone seems to hate the boxy look of the car.
