At the NYU Interactive Telecommunications Program, students come up with inventive ways to explore and expand the ability of real people to use media to connect to one another and influence the world around them. But this project, by Jennifer Chowdhury and Mehmet Sinan Ascioglu, takes the “connect” and “influence” mission to a higher (or deeper) level.

Called Intimate Controllers, the project places iconic game console buttons on the cups and straps of a pink underwire bra, and on the thighs and butt of a pair of men's boxer shorts. The bra and shorts are linked wirelessly to a game console, and you play a game by ... well, feeling up the person wearing the underwear.

Gamer widows (women neglected by their men who play video games night and day), as well as people in relationships who want to experiment with a combination of game play and intimacy, are the intended audience. Personally, with controllers like these I can't imagine getting past the first level of any game.
