While the Bauhaus looks of the car had immediate appeal when it arrived, it was priced like a Porsche Boxster or a Mercedes Benz SLK without delivering the true sports-car performance of these two-seater roadsters. Audi promises a redesign of the car for next year, raising both the power and responsiveness (though it will retain a four-cylinder engine). Soon after, the new TT will be followed by a turbocharged Clubsport--concept car pictured here--which will produce some 300 hp. Power will be delivered to all four wheels with a new six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Notice the lack of an A pillar and the speedster-like wraparound windshield.
