Amped eSports posted an interview yesterday with Paul Della Bitta, Senior Community Manager at Blizzard Entertainment, and head of the company's eSports efforts. In spite of the EULA snafus that many feel compromised the World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, Della Bitta maintained a positive stance, assuring Amped that the company has learned much from its inaugural competition.

[The EULA issues are] of the things that we’d like to address; we’re happy we were able to discover that now. Moving through
BlizzCon and the global finals we’ll continue to evaluate what the good things and the bad things are from this year and try to correct it
[sic].

For better or worse, Blizzard appears to be keen on developing WoW
as an eSport. Though Della Bitta wasn't at liberty to speak directly about any of the issues that critics feel might compromise the game's competitive viability -- such as the stringent qualification criteria, and the massive time investment required for players to become competitive -- he assured Amped that his team has been thinking long and hard about possible solutions. Hopefully, some official announcements will be forthcoming.
