Cho Seung-Hui, 23, came to the United States from South Korea as a child. He was majoring in English at the school. He had few friends, and authorities on Tuesday were struggling to learn more about him or why he went on a killing rampage.

Police told the Associated Press this morning that Cho's fingerprints were on the two handguns used in the shootings. Cho had filed the serial numbers off the weapons but inside his backpack police found a receipt for one of the guns, a Glock 9 mm pistol purchased in March. The other weapon was a .22 caliber handgun.
