A nationwide Wi-Fi network you say? Yeah, that's not happening anytime soon. In the meantime Internet junkies (like us) rely on often painfully slow, hideous looking PC broadband cards to get online outside of a hotspot. But there have to be alternatives, right? Thankfully, Sprint offers up the Ovation U720. This portable modem is only about the size of a Snickers bar yet delivers consistently blazing fast Internet access. Exactly how fast? In our tests we found average upload speeds of around 400 kbps while download speed clocked in at a heated 800 kbps. But the best part? This baby ditches the archaic PC card form factor and instead hooks in effortlessly to any spare USB port.
