
Sony has finally responded to the growing doo-doostorm over the gimpy new DRM scheme it quietly inserted into some commercial DVD releases.
The company acknowledged that it is indeed a variation of its hacked-in-a-minute ArccOS system that is causing some DVD players to choke on new releases such as "Casino Royale." According to a Sony statement:
The company further promised to provide replacement discs for anyone having problems with one of the faulty titles. Call Sony Pictures Home Entertainment at 800-860-878 to get on the list.
