The Onion amuses with a piece covering RadioShack's inexplicable ability to remain afloat in the age of Best Buy and Newegg. Cast as an interview with CEO Julian Day, the top brass appears cheerfully baffled by his firm's continued solvency.

"There must be some sort of business model that enables this company to make money, but I'll be damned if I know what it is," Day said. "You wouldn't think that people still buy enough strobe lights and extension cords to support an entire nationwide chain, but I guess they must, or I wouldn't have this desk to sit behind all day."

I was considering using this as a springboard to rant about my latest horrible experience in RadioShack, but then it stuck me: *Obviously, I still go there. *

Small towns and just-wandering-by shopping mall impulse buys, folks. It's like Waldenbooks with a universal power adapter.
