
The U.S. House will vote today on the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. If passed, the legislation will fill in the many gaps that exist in the patchwork of state and federal protections against genetically-based discrimination in employment, insurance and health care.
The same bill has been considered during two previous sessions of Congress, passing the Senate both times but stalling in the House. Finally, however, the House appears poised to approve. More on this as it develops....
