Wait! Did I read this correctly? Microsoft, the monopoly of the 1990s, says that Google has become the monopoly of the 2000s? Whoa, there's some irony. Didn't IBM, the monopoly of the 1970s, say something like that about Microsoft back in the 1980s when IBM started developing OS2?
Pay attention to this folks. Microsoft has long maintained that Google only has an early lead in search and online advertising -- that we are only in the first few innings and that there is lots of time for it to catch up. To me, its statement today completely contradicts that. I don't know whether Google's proposed acquisition of Doubleclick is anti competitive or not. What I DO know is that you don't accuse your competitor of anti competitive behavior unless you think he's about to get an insurmountablelead.
