Times are tough in the flying car business. The million-dollar pricetag tends to keep the customers away. The regulatory headaches are intense. And it's not like the things are rolling off the production line, anyway. So rather than roll out their full-fledged, four-passenger, 375 mile-per-hour (lack of) roadster, Moller International executives are taking a more measured approach. They're building a flying saucer instead.
Now, this "M200X volantor" won't exactly get you confused with an alien invader. It's built for two. Basic models will only hover about 10 feet off of the ground. But that means it won't run afoul of FAA regulations. And it is priced to move, at a low, low $125,000 (options not included). A fully-stocked model, including higher flight-ceiling and a "rescue configuration capable of docking with skyscrapers," will run more like $450,000.
Moller says it would welcome "information on potential military and/or para-military applications" for the M200 series. But given the Axel F-quality of their video (not to mention a rather suspicious-looking crane in the background, around 1:16 in), I'm not sure there are gonna be a ton of takers for this vehicle, either.
