When would be the best time to jumpstart interest in your new tech conference? Why during another high-profile tech conference, of course. Mike Arrington has promised to launch his new site dedicated to the TechCrunch20 event in about one hour.
The TechCrunch20 is a joint project pairing the efforts of Arrington (pictured right) and Sequoia Capital’s Jason Calacanis, in an effort to find the 20 hottest new companies ready to pitch their wares to VCs flush with cash. We’ll suspend our suspicion that this is merely Calacanis’ way of getting everyone to help him find his next investment target and assume that this is really a heartfelt gesture to the entrepreneur community weary of paying fees to pitch at other conflabs.
