Opel's GTC Concept Family Tree

Is it a Saab? A Cadillac? Could it be the new Opel Vectra? No, it’s the Opel Gran Turismo Coupe concept showed here at General Motors’ bash held the night before the first press day of the Geneva Motor Show. Only time will tell if we will ever see this model on the other side of the pond--or even in Europe, for that matter.

Here is what head designer Bryan Nesbitt, of General Motors Europe, had to say:

The Opel GTC concept showcases a lot of the appearance solutions that you can expect to see in the next season or chapter of vehicles. So if you look at a family portrait, you have a mother, a father, and a few siblings. And they also go together, but they are also very similar. So we look at the cues that link that family together and we look at the cues that make the individual. So tonight we see on the Opel GTC
concept a lot of those family cues that we recognize and expect to see in that family portrait.

So don't expect the concept to represent a single model, as it represents several.

Nesbitt would not comment on when we could elements of the concept in production, but said "we should see it pretty soon.
