Romanticism was an 18th century artistic rebellion against aristocracy and the rationalization of nature, a plea by an entire continent full of artists to give sappiness, anger, and other raw human emotions some street cred. Now, over 200 years later, five artists are displaying their modern-day, jaded conceptions of it at the Elizabeth Foudation for the Arts (EFA) Gallery in New York City.
