CallcarsSony designer David Jaffe confirmed in his blog this week that he is committed to producing casual games from now on. We knew this, given that he's passed his God of War series on and is currently helming PS3 downloadable Calling All Cars. But he wants you to know that he's serious:

I'm no longer interested in going head to head with the likes of Halo,
Mass Effect, Resistance, Devil May Cry 4, etc. Hell, I don't even want to go head to head against our own GOD OF WAR. I just want to do smaller, simpler games that focus on the fun.

He then lists the games that he does now view as competition, in pictorial form, and includes Geometry Wars, Bookworm, and Elite Beat Agents. That's some tough competition!
