GDC: Sakaguchi Asks To Make Online RPG With Microsoft

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi is fascinated with online games, and wants to make one for Microsoft, Today at the RPG panel at Game Developers Conference, Sakaguchi asked Microsoft Game Studios' Shane Kim if it would be okay:

Geoff Keighley: How do you see multiplayer fitting into future of RPGs?

HS: I'm fond of multiplayer and online connectivity, I see growth in the area. Final Fantasy XI was online. I'm hoping to talk with Shane and create an online RPG.

(laughter)

HS: Shane? Please, Shane. I want to.

Shane Kim: Whatever you want.

Microsoft PR rep: Green light.

Peter Molyneux: Shane? Shane, I want to as well.

(laughter)

I think they were only half-joking.
