We've all done it at least once. To prepare for a trip, you print out the directions, then after you've started to make your way you realize you've left them in the back of the car, or worse, you've left them on your desk.
Fear not, for MapQuest's handy "send to cell" feature enables forgetful folks (guilty as charged) enables you to send yourself a text message that includes a link to the turn by turn directions. The mapping info is fitted to your mobile's screen, and it's free for MapQuest mobile subscribers. The directions can be customized to the shortest route or to avoid toll roads.
Pulling up the directions on your phone while driving is not recommended (and not legal in many states), but that's why God gave us traffic lights. (Isn't funny how whenever you are looking for a street sign or trying to read directions that you somehow make all of the lights?)
While MapQuest isn't nearly as useful as OnStar's audio turn by turn directions, it is a good option for us forgetful types.
