The cat is out of the bag regarding the name of the mystery wireless portable music player that will be announced by Broadband Instruments on Wednesday here at SXSW: it is to be called Slacker, as evidenced by the company's Slacker.com teaser site.
The name "Slacker" indicates that the wireless feature of this player will most likely be used to refresh the music on the device without the user taking much action. I'm looking forward to finding out more about Broadband Instruments Slacker when I meet with their executives tomorrow at SXSW for a sneak preview.
