Financial analyst Roger Ehrenberg ends the week with some interesting prognostication on why the conventional wisdom that Apple will never be much of a presence in the workplace might not be all that wise.

For starters, there's good evidence that Macs will continue to become more of a force in consumer computing, as applications such as iTunes become omnipresent and the new Vista version of Windows continues to give sensible folk the vapors. And if people get used to using certain technology at home, why wouldn't they lobby for continuity at work?

Further, Apple's embrace of Intel processors makes switching less of logistical nightmare now. And given the hefty hardware upgrades most businesses would require to move to Vista, switching to Apple might be less of a hassle than continuing on the Windows migration treadmill.
