A spokesman for JCB--which believe it or not is a Britain-based construction equipment maker--confirmed that the company is sponsoring yet another world land-speed record attempt. After its JCB DIESELMAX car broke the diesel engine land-speed record of 350.092mph last year, the company hopes to beat the piston-engined wheel record by as early as 2008, which stands at 409 mph.
The car/rocket's engine will be powered with a biofuel mix. More details will be forthcoming, the spokesman said.
