My friend James found this great short film by Japanese director Kosai Sekine on YouTube. It actually won Best Short Film at Cannes last year.
The main character is a convenience store clerk working the night shift at a Seven Eleven who needs everything to be perfectly aligned. Not an easy feat when you work in a place selling a billion different things in one place. He seems to be doing okay as he wakes up, cuts his egg into 9 perfect pieces (how did he manage to cook it that way?), takes his pills, boards the train, walks to work on the white sidewalk marker, and gives perfectly aligned change to his first customer of the night. But when a group of young kids walk in and start perusing the aisles, picking up a bowl of cup noodle and then putting it back, that's when the guy starts to lose his shit. The music starts.
Anyway, short story short, he finds his place in the world, as do all weirdos, including you and me.
