Yesterday was Valentine's Day, so I watched a movie about scary Japanese women. Unholy Women was actually three short stories by three different directors, put together into one very scary anthology. It was sooo good!! And random. And funny and scary. I was making funny laughing-screaming noises the whole time. That's the kind of movie it was.
The first story was about a big red superpowered monster woman who chases a woman named Kanako all over the place--in her apartment, in the police box, everywhere! Homegirl just won't quit. My favorite part: When an exhausted and beyond-her-fears Kanako screams: "What the hell are you?" and the woman in red goes: "OBAKE JYAAAA!"
The second story is about a 19-year old boy's short-lived affair with a woman with kick-ass legs and a giant burlap sack for an upper body. Must I say more? It's better than you'd expect.
And the third is a more serious, classic J-horror about a curse that makes mothers want to kill their sons. It's directed by a disciple of the guy who did The Grudge.
All in all, a wonderful night of psycho Japanese woman horror.
