Global Warming: Silence = Death

If smart ads were enough, we'd have global warming licked right now. Friends of the Earth has launched an awareness campaign at 30 English universities that conveys the dangers — and the need for concrete action — using a metaphor any middle schooler can understand.

BBC News notes that the FOE site also "includes a game involving a polar bear which destroys a 4x4 vehicle by hurling ice cubes at it," adding:

The campaign coincides with a survey by Friends of the Earth which suggests that 95 percent of students think that climate change should be the government's biggest priority, above the Iraq war, terrorism and student loans. But the survey, of 706 students at 60 English universities, suggests that only 12 percent are satisfied with the government's efforts to combat climate change.

Nice to know I agree with 95 percent of British students — though it would appear that at least 7 percent of said students are thoroughly confused. Two more pix after the flip.
