Sony's TX-series laptops, cute as buttons, already offer LED-backlit displays, and Toshiba's slotting out the second volume-manufactured toteable that deploy the bright new technology. The LifeBook P7230 is similarly ultraportable at 2.9 pounds, comes in "leather black" or "leather white," and weighs in with a $1,700 price tag. Though small, it offers an optical drive, 10.6" widescreen display and Core Solo. No wireless area networking.
